We begin the Chardham Yatra directly from Haridwar, boarding our group coach for the drive up to Barkot. We start early with a drive to Jankichatti. From here, you begin the 6 km trek up to the Yamunotri Temple, walking along the mountain path. After pooja and taking a holy bath in the natural hot springs of Surya Kund, we trek back down to Jankichatti and drive back to Barkot for the night.
Return to our Barkot base camp for hot showers and a warm buffet dinner after a demanding mountain trek.
Today is a shorter, relaxed drive of about 100 km to Uttarkashi, running alongside the Bhagirathi River. After checking into the hotel, we will visit the historic Kashi Vishwanath Temple in the town center. The rest of the evening is yours to walk around the local market or sit by the riverbank.

We head to Gangotri Dham early in the morning, stopping along the way at Gangnani to take a holy dip in the natural sulphur hot springs. At the main granite temple, you will have time for prayers and quiet reflection by the gushing Bhagirathi River. In the afternoon, we drive back to Uttarkashi for a restful evening.
Relax for another night by the river. Refreshing mountain hospitality with comfortable bedding and vegan kitchen.
Get ready for a full day on the road as we drive to Guptkashi. We will arrive in Guptkashi by evening to check into the resort and prepare for the Kedarnath trek.

We drive to Sonprayag early, take the local shuttle to Gaurikund, and start the 16 km trek up to the Kedarnath Temple. The trail is steep and demanding, but the view of the snow-peaked Himalayas makes it worth the effort. You will reach the base camp in the afternoon, check into the guest house, and attend the beautiful evening aarti at the temple.

Wake up early to join the morning pooja and get a closer darshan of the holy Shivling. After breakfast, we trek down the 16 km trail to Gaurikund. From there, we take the local transport back to Sonprayag and drive back to our resort in Guptkashi to rest and recover.

After morning prayers at the temple, we will visit Mana Village, the last Indian village near the border. We drop you at the Haridwar railway station or bus stand by late evening to end the tour.

The Chardham routes traverse high-altitude terrains. Understanding seasonal conditions helps you prepare effectively.
Travelling in high-altitudes involves adjustments to cooler weather and low humidity. We ensure you travel with comfort.
Drink plenty of fluids to adjust to the fresh mountain climate and lower humidity levels.
Carry high-quality winter layers to stay warm and cozy during cooler evenings at the shrines.
Apply sunscreen and wear UV-protection sunglasses to shield against clear mountain sun rays.
Walk at a comfortable, leisurely pace to allow your body to naturally adapt to altitude pressure.
We have carefully selected clean, comfortable, and reliable hotels and guest houses at every overnight stop of your Chardham journey. From hot running water and cozy bedding to hygienic vegetarian kitchens, each stay is vetted to ensure you rest peacefully after a long day of travel and trekking.
We start our 9-day trip from Haridwar, driving straight into the high-altitude valleys of the Garhwal Himalayas. You will visit the four sacred temples—Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath—in the exact traditional order. This route is designed to give you ample time for darshan and pooja without feeling rushed, even during peak yatra season.
Your first stop is Yamunotri, the source of the sacred Yamuna River, sitting at 10,800 feet. Visit the black marble temple of Goddess Yamuna and cook offerings in the boiling waters of Surya Kund hot springs. The journey features a scenic trek from Jankichatti.
Travel to Gangotri, the holy birthplace of the Ganga River, situated at 10,200 feet amidst towering white peaks and deodar forests. The beautiful white granite temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga sits on the banks of the Bhagirathi River.
The third dham is Kedarnath, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, located at 11,755 feet against the massive Kedarnath peak. Reaching this ancient stone temple requires a trek from Gaurikund, which we coordinate for you with clean guest house stays right near the temple.
Your final stop is Badrinath, the holy home of Lord Vishnu, located on the banks of the Alaknanda River at 10,170 feet. The colorful temple sits between the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges. Take a dip in the warm water of Tapt Kund before entering.
Take a look at real photos captured by our group travellers during their recent trips to the Dhams. These pictures show everything from the cold morning prayers at Gangotri to the trek up to Kedarnath and our comfortable group coaches parked along the scenic mountain roads. This is exactly what your trip will look like.
Nothing speaks louder than the words of families and seniors who have travelled with us. Read their honest feedback about our choice of hotels, the quality of the daily vegetarian buffet, and how our drivers navigated the tough mountain bends safely. We try our best to make this demanding trip feel simple and stress-free.

We want you to know exactly what you are paying for, with no hidden charges or sudden surprises on the road. Here is a clear, simple list of everything included in your package fee—like hotel stays, meals, and toll taxes—along side the personal expenses and activity costs that you will need to pay for directly.
"Ahimsa Paramo Dharma - Non-violence is the highest form of Dharma."
A true Yatra is a journey of spiritual purification. But can we truly seek the blessings of Lord Shiva, worshipped in his supreme form as Pashupatinath (the Protector of all Living Beings), if our path causes pain to innocent creatures?
Every season, thousands of horses, ponies, and mules are overloaded beyond their physical limits, beaten, and forced to climb steep mountain trails under excruciating pain. Many collapse from exhaustion on the routes to Kedarnath and Yamunotri. Out of respect for the divine spirit residing in all creatures, Nagarjuna Travels chooses compassion: we do NOT support, book, or arrange animal rides. We believe a pilgrim's footprints should represent faith and mercy, not cruelty.
Planning a trip to high altitudes raises a lot of practical questions, especially about physical fitness, mobile network, and biometric registration rules. We have put together clear answers to the most common questions our travellers ask before booking, helping you prepare your luggage and mind for the road ahead.
We use spacious, air-conditioned push-back Tempo Travellers (12 to 17 seat capacities) or comfortable buses for larger groups. This guarantees a comfortable ride through the mountain roads with sufficient legroom and group travel security.
We serve 100% pure vegetarian, freshly cooked organic buffet meals (breakfast and dinner). The menus are carefully selected for high-altitude nutrition and focus on healthy Indian recipes.
Rooms are allocated strictly for your booking group. E.g., if you choose double sharing, you and your travel companion get a private room. We do not mix strangers in sharing rooms.
Yes, the Uttarakhand government requires mandatory biometric registration for all Chardham pilgrims. Our dedicated support team handles the entire online registration process on your behalf. We will generate your Yatra registration slips and share them with you before the trip starts.
The trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Temple is approximately 16 kilometers. It is a steep mountain trail that takes about 6 to 8 hours to climb on foot. For guests who prefer not to walk, we can pre-arrange pony (mule) rides, palanquins (doli), or basket carriers (kandi). Please inform us in advance so we can book reliable helpers.
Temperatures in high-altitude zones like Kedarnath and Badrinath can drop to near-freezing, especially in the evenings. You should pack heavy woolen jackets, thermal innerwear, gloves, warm socks, and a woolen cap. Additionally, pack comfortable walking shoes with good grip, a raincoat or umbrella, personal medications, and cash.
Yes, due to high altitudes (especially at Kedarnath at 11,750 ft and Badrinath at 10,170 ft), the government advises a medical checkup. While a formal certificate is generally checked at Gaurikund trek starting points for seniors, we highly recommend getting a fitness clearance from your family doctor before starting the journey. We also carry basic medical and first-aid kits on our Tempo Travellers.
Our group coordinators and drivers are trained to recognize early symptoms of high-altitude sickness. In case of emergencies, oxygen cylinders are available. We will assist in coordinating with the nearest government medical relief camps or local hospitals setup along the route. Any personal medical evacuation costs (like heli-rescue) will be borne by the client.
Mobile network connectivity is fairly decent in base towns like Haridwar, Rishikesh, Barkot, and Guptkashi. However, on the trek routes and near the shrines, BSNL, Jio, and Airtel offer the most stable connectivity. BSNL is highly recommended as a backup. Data speeds might be slow, and network dropouts are common in deep valleys.
To secure your seat on our Tempo Traveller and confirm hotel bookings, we require a 30% advance deposit at the time of booking. Another 40% is due 15 days before the departure date, and the remaining 30% balance must be cleared upon arrival in Haridwar before starting the journey. We accept UPI, bank transfers, and major credit/debit cards.
