Sri Lanka 5‑Day Cultural Tour Package

An ancient island kingdom. Three thousand years of civilisation. Four UNESCO World Heritage Sites. And only 5 days to experience them all. Our Sri Lanka 5-Day Cultural Tour Package traces the "Cultural Triangle" — Sri Lanka's historic heartland — from the fortress-city of Sigiriya perched atop a 200-metre volcanic rock, through the cave temple golden galleries of Dambulla, across the medieval ruins of Polonnaruwa, and into Kandy's living cultural capital, where the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha has been enshrined for over 2,300 years. Add a Minneriya elephant safari, a Kandyan cultural dance performance, a Ramboda Waterfall stop, a tea plantation visit, and a Colombo city finale — and you have Sri Lanka's greatest cultural hits, expertly curated into 5 unforgettable days.

About Dambulla Cave Temple — Golden Temple

The Dambulla Cave Temple — known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla — is Sri Lanka's best-preserved and most extensive cave temple complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991. Five natural caves in a 160-metre granite dome house 153 Buddha statues (in gold, lacquer, and painted stone), 3 statues of Sri Lankan kings, and 4 statues of Hindu deities, surrounded by over 2,000 square metres of painted murals covering every ceiling and wall — scenes from the Jataka tales, the life of the Buddha, and the history of Sri Lanka from the 1st century BCE onward. The oldest paintings date to the 1st century BCE; the most recent additions are from the 18th century CE — making Dambulla a living 2,000-year canvas. Cave 2 (Maharaja Viharaya) is the largest, housing a magnificent 15-metre reclining Buddha. The golden-roofed entrance building at the base of the rock is a striking modern addition that signals the site from miles away.
