The Brahmatal Trek is a captivating winter trek in Uttarakhand, offering breathtaking views of snow-clad peaks like Mt. Trishul and Mt. Nanda Ghunti. The trail meanders through dense oak and rhododendron forests, serene alpine meadows, and frozen lakes, with the highlight being the pristine Brahmatal Lake, nestled amid towering mountains. This moderately challenging trek, which reaches an altitude of around 12,000 feet, is perfect for both novice and seasoned trekkers seeking a blend of adventure and tranquility. The clear skies and snow-covered landscapes during winter make it a picturesque trekking destination.
Important Points for Brahmatal Trek, Lohajung
Documents Required:
Trekkers must carry a copy of their photo ID along with the mandatory Medical Certificate and Disclaimer form. These documents will be checked by the trek leader during the Safety Check-in upon arrival at the base camp.
Stay Facility:
Accommodation in Lohajung will be in a lodge. Please do not bring any packaged food, tags from new clothes, or any waste with you, as we adhere to a Dustbin-Free Zone and No Wet Wipes Policy in line with our Green Trails initiative. During the trek, accommodation will be in tents, with two trekkers per tent.
Cloakroom Facility for Excess Luggage:
A cloakroom facility is available at the base camp for excess luggage. Each trekker is allowed to leave one piece of luggage at no charge. Any additional luggage beyond the first piece is chargeable at Rs 500 per item. The luggage can be a backpack, suitcase, duffel bag, or similar.
Day wise Itinerary

Day 1Kathgodam to LohajungOn Day 1, begin your journey from Haldwani or Kathgodam and travel to Lohajung, a scenic drive that sets the stage for your trek. Spend the night in Lohajung to acclimatize and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2Lohajung to Brahmatal Top trekkingDay 2 starts with an early morning trek from Lohajung to Brahmatal Top. This challenging yet rewarding hike takes you through beautiful forests and meadows, leading to breathtaking views at the summit. After soaking in the panoramic vistas, camp overnight near Brahmatal.

Day 3Trek back to LohajungOn Day 3, retrace your steps as you trek back to Lohajung. Enjoy the downhill journey, reflecting on the stunning landscapes and experiences from the previous day. Spend another night in Lohajung, resting and rejuvenating after the trek.

Day 4Lohajung to Kathgodam dropFinally, on Day 4, depart from Lohajung and return to Haldwani or Kathgodam, completing your Brahmatal Trek adventure.
