Day wise Itinerary


  • Day 1
    Arrival in Kathmandu
    Your trip begins today as you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Upon arrival, a representative from Nagarjuna Travels will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a 3-star equivalent hotel on a sharing basis. Indian passport holders do not require a visa for Nepal; however, valid identification like a passport or voter ID is necessary while traveling by air from India.
  • Day 2
    Kathmandu Sightseeing
    After breakfast, the temple visit begins at around 8:00 AM. The group will head to Pashupatinath Temple, aiming to attend the aarti before 9:00 AM. After exploring the temple complex, the tour continues to Jal Narayan Temple (Sleeping Vishnu) and Guheshwari Mata Temple. The afternoon is free for shopping or exploring the Thamel market, where you can find adventure and trekking gear. In the evening, there will be a briefing session to introduce all group members. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the same hotel.
  • Day 3
    Kathmandu to Syabrubesi
    Following breakfast, the group departs for Syabrubesi, which is situated at an altitude of 2,380 meters. Although the distance is only 148 km, the drive takes 7 to 8 hours due to challenging road conditions. Upon arrival, you'll check into a guesthouse or backcountry accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
  • Day 4
    Syabrubesi to Kyirong
    The group will start the day early with breakfast, followed by a short drive to the Nepalese border at Rasuwagadhi (1,850m), located about 15 km from Syabrubesi. After completing border formalities, the group will cross into China, where Tibetan buses will transfer everyone to Kyirong (2,700m). Upon arrival, check into a guesthouse and enjoy hot tea or snacks prepared by the Nepalese kitchen crew. Dinner will be served, and the night will be spent at the guesthouse.
  • Day 5
    Acclimatization in Kyirong
    This day is reserved for acclimatization in Kyirong due to its high altitude. The tour manager will guide a short hike around the area to help you adjust to the altitude. You may also participate in bhajan or katha sessions in the guesthouse. Meals and accommodation will be provided at the guesthouse.
  • Day 6
    Kyirong to Saga/Zhongba
    After breakfast, the group continues its journey through the Tibetan plains to reach Saga (4,640m). Along the way, the group will cross the Yarlung Zangpo (Brahmaputra River) before arriving in Saga, a beautiful Tibetan town with several hotels and local markets. Depending on time and conditions, the guide may extend the drive to Zhongba (Dongba) for an overnight stay. Dinner and accommodation will be at a hotel or guesthouse.
  • Day 7
    Saga to Lake Mansarovar
    The group departs early in the morning for a long drive to Lake Mansarovar. En route, you'll pass the Mayumla Pass (4,900m) and encounter several checkpoints. The highlight of the day is the first glimpse of Mount Kailash and reaching the sacred Lake Mansarovar. Upon arrival, you'll check into a guesthouse. In the evening, you may visit the lake under the moonlight, but it’s recommended to go in a group with a Sherpa for assistance.
  • Day 8
    Lake Mansarovar to Darchen
    In the early morning, the group will visit Lake Mansarovar for a holy bath and prayers. The water will be cold, but arrangements can be made to bring lake water in a bucket for those who prefer not to enter the lake. After the rituals, the group will drive to Darchen, passing through Rakshasa Taal and performing 70% of the lake's parikrama. Upon reaching Darchen, check into the hotel and rest for the night.
  • Day 9
    First Day of Kora - Trek to Dirapuk
    The group starts early, heading to Tarboche to begin the first day of Mount Kailash's kora. After visiting Yama Dwar, the group embarks on a 12 km trek to Dirapuk (5,210m). The trek is moderately easy, but the high altitude may cause breathlessness. Upon arrival at Dirapuk, you’ll have a magnificent view of Mount Kailash. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a guesthouse near Dirapuk Monastery.
  • Day 10
    Second Day of Kora - Trek to Zuthulpukh via Gauri Kund
    Before dawn, the group will start the toughest part of the trek, ascending to Dolma-La Pass (5,630m) and descending to Gauri Kund. Along the way, you'll pass Shiva Tsal, where pilgrims leave offerings symbolizing a farewell to worldly attachments. The day's trek covers 22 km to reach Zuthulpukh Monastery. Meals and accommodation will be provided at a lodge.
  • Day 11
    Third Day of Kora - Return to Darchen and Drive to Saga
    After breakfast, the final portion of the trek covers 6 km before the group boards the vehicles for the remaining drive to Darchen. After regrouping and refreshing, the journey continues towards Saga, completing the parikrama of Lake Mansarovar by vehicle. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel in Saga.
  • Day 12
    Saga to Kyirong
    After breakfast, the group drives back to Kyirong, crossing the Brahmaputra River and enjoying stunning views of the Himalayas, including Shishapangma and Pieko-Tso Lake. Upon arrival in Kyirong, check into the guesthouse for dinner and overnight stay.
  • Day 13
    Kyirong to Kathmandu via Rasuwagadhi
    Following breakfast, the group drives to the Nepalese border at Rasuwagadhi to complete immigration formalities before re-entering Nepal. From there, the group will drive back to Kathmandu, a journey that takes around 7-8 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.
  • Day 14
    Departure from Kathmandu
    At the appropriate time, you'll be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your return flight, marking the end of your pilgrimage journey.
