First Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Group of 2026 Successfully Enters Tibet; Kailash Parikrama to Begin Soon
Nagarjuna Travels is pleased to announce that its first batch of Kailash Mansarovar Yatris for the 2026 season has successfully crossed the Tibet border and entered the sacred Kailash region. The group is currently proceeding as per schedule and is expected to commence the holy Kailash Parikrama in the coming days.
The 2026 Yatra season has witnessed exceptionally high pilgrim movement due to the ongoing Saga Dawa Festival, one of the most important Buddhist festivals celebrated across Tibet. Saga Dawa commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and Mahaparinirvana of Lord Buddha and attracts thousands of devotees, monks, and pilgrims from Tibet, Nepal, India, Bhutan, and various parts of the world. As a result, the Kailash Mansarovar region is currently experiencing a significantly larger number of visitors than usual.
Due to the festival rush, local authorities, accommodation providers, transportation operators, and border checkpoints are operating under considerable pressure. Pilgrims may experience longer waiting times, tighter schedules, limited accommodation availability, and increased traffic along the Yatra route. Despite these challenges, the first group of Nagarjuna Travels has successfully completed the border crossing process and continues its journey toward the sacred Mount Kailash.
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra remains one of the most revered spiritual pilgrimages in the world. Every year, thousands of devotees undertake this journey seeking the blessings of Lord Shiva. The sacred Kailash Parikrama, which circles the holy Mount Kailash, is considered the most spiritually significant part of the Yatra and is believed to bring immense spiritual merit and inner transformation.
