How to reach Simikot in Nepal?

Simikot, located in the remote Humla district of northwestern Nepal, is accessible through a combination of air and road travel due to its isolation. To reach Simikot, you must fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, then take a small plane to Simikot. From there, the trek to Simikot begins, passing through rugged Himalayan terrain, remote villages, and dense forests. The trek typically takes around 7-10 days, depending on the starting point and route. This path is rarely chosen due to its difficulty, steep ascents, and the time required, but it offers an immersive experience in the remote beauty of western Nepal.
