Kathmandu ➝ Pokhara (by Flight): Daily flights operate between Kathmandu and Pokhara. The flight takes around 25–30 minutes.
Pokhara ➝ Jomsom (by Flight): From Pokhara, take an early morning flight to Jomsom. This short 20–25 minute flight offers aerial views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Note: Flights are subject to weather conditions.
Jomsom ➝ Muktinath (by Jeep or Hike): From Jomsom, you can hire a local 4x4 jeep to reach Muktinath. The ride takes about 1.5 to 2 hours through rugged mountain roads. For trekkers, there’s also an option to hike (takes 6–7 hours).

Pokhara ➝ Jomsom (Flight): Take an early flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. The best season is March–May and September–November, when weather conditions are more predictable.
Jomsom ➝ Muktinath (Jeep or Trek): Hire a jeep or begin your trek. Jeeps take around 2 hours, while the trekking route via Kagbeni is also popular among adventure lovers.
Pokhara ➝ Beni ➝ Jomsom ➝ Muktinath: This route involves rugged mountainous roads. Many travelers prefer to split the journey into 2–3 days, staying overnight at places like Tatopani or Jomsom. Local buses or shared jeeps are available, but private 4x4 vehicles offer more flexibility and comfort.
Altitude Sickness: Muktinath is located at a high altitude. Acclimatize properly, stay hydrated, and avoid alcohol or strenuous activity upon arrival.

For Upper Mustang, an additional Restricted Area Permit is required.
Best Time to Visit: The best time to visit Muktinath is from March to June and September to November when the weather is dry and skies are clear. Avoid monsoon (July–August) and peak winter (December–February) when flights are frequently cancelled and roads may be blocked.
Clothing & Essentials: Carry warm clothes, trekking shoes, sun protection, and personal medicines. Weather can change rapidly in the mountains.
